Foundations

With regard to the pouring / installation of concrete foundations for new or replacement monuments, please note that no monumental company or stone mason is permitted to pour / install any concrete foundation into any grave in this cemetery. Only the cemetery performs this function. Please allow up to 6- 8 weeks (more at busy periods), for a foundation to be poured after an application has been fully accepted.

90% of graves in Mount Jerome do not have any pre-poured foundations. Therefore these foundations have to be poured individually for each grave, only when 11- 12 months have elapsed after the last full burial.

10% of the graves in Mount Jerome have pre-poured head foundations but not any foot foundations. Therefore the headstone and base of a monument on these graves can be erected without delay. However if a foot foundation is also needed to support surrounds / kerbing, this will not be poured until at least 11 – 12 months after the last full burial.
